The Berthel Fisher Companies has named Dan Meehan as vice president of recruiting and acquisition strategies.

Meehan comes to the $10 billion hybrid wealth management firm from Arete Wealth, where he helped to lead business development efforts. At Berthel Fisher, he is tasked with recruiting independent financial professionals, implementing acquisition strategies, and boosting organic growth and retention.

Meehan will report to Paige Swartzendruber, chief business development officer, who noted in a statement that the firm is “thrilled” to bring Meehan on board.

“Dan’s background and skillset are perfectly suited to help us accelerate growth as we continue to make significant progress in establishing ourselves as a destination of choice for top talent,” Swartzendruber said.

Meehan has more than 30 years of wealth management experience, working across the wirehouse, independent broker-dealer and RIA channels at firms including Merrill Lynch, Raymond James and TD Ameritrade. He was also a financial advisor before entering business development.

“I am excited to join Berthel Fisher, where I can utilize the full extent of my business development skills and industry knowledge,” Meehan said. “I look forward to extolling the virtues of a platform that allows advisors to re-invest back into their own business, working with the firm to innovate new products and services to meet evolving client needs, and much more.”
